I think sl23 mistakenly referred to the Finalshot plugin when actually talking about the YourPicker plugin, also by nstechbytes. They're both great, but the latter is indeed about color picking.These two plugins (CursorColor and Finalshot) are ment to do completely different things. You can't replace any of them by the other.
Why couldn't you get working CursorColor? There is an example skin using the plugin, you can get there how to use the plugin.
